Laura Ingraham: The Gatekeepers Want Us Silent

Fox News host Laura Ingraham reacted to the outrage after Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker spoke about his Christian faith during a commencement speech at Benedictine College on "The Ingraham Angle."

"Harrison Butker decided to use this occasion to say something that mattered. Doing what the left pretends to support, speaking his truth," Ingraham said. "Now it's easy to forget, in our social media obsessed, materialistic world, we all fall into it, including myself, ... that Heaven is really what we as Christians should be striving for here on earth."

Ingraham said it's easy to understand why Butker's comments made certain people uncomfortable because they believe it's enough to glide through life with glib references to "equity and inclusion" and "I'm spiritual, but not religious."

"But some of them are among the most intolerant people on the planet," Ingraham said. "The powers that be here mean to make an example out of people like Harrison Butker and Riley Gaines."

Ingraham said that if anyone dares to challenge the left's twisted worldview, where men can be women and mothers and fathers are fungible, they will try to denigrate you, isolate you, cancel you and ultimately silence you completely.

"Be not afraid," Ingraham said.

Ingraham's comments come after Butker spoke about his Christian faith during his commencement speech at Benedictine College on Saturday. Butker said that he believes that God has a plan for his life and that he wants to use his platform to share his faith with others.

"I'm not perfect," Butker said. "I make mistakes. But I'm trying to live my life for Christ. I'm trying to be a good husband, a good father, and a good teammate. And I'm trying to use my platform to share my faith with others."

Butker's comments were met with criticism from some on social media, who accused him of being homophobic and transphobic. Butker responded to the criticism on Twitter, saying that he loves and respects everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

"I believe that everyone is created in the image of God and that we are all loved by Him," Butker said. "I also believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. I understand that not everyone agrees with my beliefs, but I hope that you can respect my right to have them."
