"When I was a kid, when I used to beat my mom at racing, I had to continually beat her," Arnold said, as reported by AL.com. "We used to fight when I was younger, just wrestling with her or playing around. Like, man, I'll never forget one time my mom kicked my tooth out because we were just going at it so hard."

Arnold's competitive spirit extended beyond racing and wrestling with his mother. He recalled a time when he playfully tackled her and ended up breaking her tooth. Arnold emphasized that his mother, despite her playful demeanor, taught him the importance of giving no quarter on the field.

"If my mom was out here right now, and she lined up across from me as a receiver, I would jam her into the dirt. That's my mindset," Arnold said. "And my mom knows that. I just mean in the simple aspect of football-wise, that's just the way that I think and the way that I was brought up."

"My mom always pushed me to be the best I could be," Arnold said. "She taught me that if I wanted something, I had to go out there and earn it."

Arnold's competitive nature was evident from a young age. He excelled in multiple sports, including football, basketball, and track. In high school, he was a standout defensive back and receiver, leading his team to several championships.

After graduating high school, Arnold attended the University of Alabama, where he continued to shine. He started 12 games in his final season, recording five interceptions and 63 total tackles. Arnold's impressive performances earned him First-Team All-American and First-Team All-SEC honors.

Arnold's competitive spirit and athleticism caught the attention of NFL scouts. He was selected with the No. 24 overall pick by the Detroit Lions in the 2024 NFL Draft. Arnold expressed his gratitude to his mother for her unwavering support throughout his journey.

"My mom has been my biggest supporter since day one," Arnold said. "She's always believed in me, even when I didn't believe in myself. I wouldn't be where I am today without her."
