Lions Rout Seahawks in High-Scoring Battle at Ford Field

The Detroit Lions put on an offensive clinic against the Seattle Seahawks at Ford Field on Monday Night Football, scoring six touchdowns on their way to a 42-29 victory.

The Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks once again engaged in a high-scoring affair, but this time it was the Lions who emerged victorious, handing the Seahawks their first loss of the season.

The Lions offense was unstoppable, putting together six touchdown drives against a Seahawks defense that had allowed just 14.3 points per game over the first three weeks of the year. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson pulled out all the stops, including an Amon-Ra St. Brown touchdown pass to quarterback Jared Goff.

Detroit's dynamic running back duo of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs led the ground attack, with Montgomery scoring the first touchdown and Gibbs adding two more. The Lions went into halftime with a commanding 21-7 lead.

The Seahawks refused to go down without a fight. Geno Smith and the Seahawks offense scored on back-to-back drives in the second half, but the Lions responded each time. A 70-yard touchdown catch by Jameson Williams and an eight-yard touchdown pass to St. Brown put the game out of reach.

For Seattle, Geno Smith set new career highs in attempts (56), completions (38), and yards passing (395). However, a late interception in a desperation drive ultimately sealed their defeat.

Kenneth Walker III made a strong return to the Seattle offense, rushing for 80 yards on 12 carries and scoring three touchdowns. He also caught four passes for 36 yards. D.K. Metcalf was Smith's top target with seven catches for 104 yards, while Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba also contributed through the air.

The Lions improved to 3-1 on the year, while the Seahawks dropped to 3-1. Detroit will travel to New England to face the Patriots on Sunday, while Seattle will host the New Orleans Saints.
