A terrifying video captures the moment a loose bull charges and rams a woman multiple times on a popular Mexican beach, leaving onlookers horrified and raising concerns about animal safety measures.
The heart-stopping incident unfolded at Cabo San Lucas, a resort city in Mexico's Baja California peninsula, on Saturday. A video of the attack, shared by María Leticia Montaño Casas via Storyful, shows a black bull charging and ramming a woman more than six times after she tries to snatch her bags from the animal.
The video begins with the bull under a canopy, where the woman appears to be feeding it food from a bag and a silver bowl. Unperturbed by the animal's size and strength, she approaches it confidently. Bulls can weigh well over 2,000 pounds depending on the breed and are known for their aggressive behavior.
In the next clip, the bull can be seen trotting away from the canopy after spotting several bags belonging to the woman. She then confronts the beast face-to-face in an attempt to retrieve her belongings, prompting one onlooker to warn, "You are really playing with it right now."
Despite the warnings, the woman ignores the danger and persists in her efforts. As the bull devours the contents of the bags, another beachgoer calls her a "moron" for her recklessness. The crowd continues to urge her to retreat, but she turns her back on the predator.
Suddenly, the bull lowers its head and charges at the woman, ramming its head into her side and knocking her to the ground. She gets up, but the bull charges again, striking her in the face with one of its horns. The woman collapses onto the sand and finds herself on her knees with her back to the bull, which plows into her again, pushing her forward.
Onlookers watch with terror as the bull relentlessly rams the woman several more times. Another woman comes to her aid and tries to throw a bucket of water at the bull, which eventually moves away. Despite the shocking attack, the woman manages to get to her feet and walk away. It is unclear what injuries she suffered.
The incident has raised concerns about animal safety measures at the beach, which is close to several ranches. Torres García, an official with the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone, told local outlet El Sudcaliforniano that close encounters with livestock are common in the area. He advised tourists against feeding animals to prevent similar incidents.
The video has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and calls for stricter regulations to ensure the safety of both tourists and animals on popular beaches.
