According to KTLA, the bus was hijacked around 2 a.m. in the Koreatown neighborhood of Los Angeles. The suspect, a 26-year-old man, allegedly boarded the bus and demanded that the driver take him to Long Beach.

The driver refused, and the suspect allegedly shot him in the leg. The driver was able to escape the bus and call for help.

The suspect has been identified as Michael James Meacham. He has a criminal record that includes assault and robbery.

The shooting victim, a 50-year-old man, is in stable condition.
