Malindi Elmore knows that juggling motherhood and training for the Olympics is no easy feat. But the 44-year-old Canadian marathon runner wouldn't have it any other way.

"It's hard, but it's also really rewarding," Elmore told Fox News Digital. "I love being able to show my kids that anything is possible if you set your mind to it."

Elmore, who is also a registered nurse, first competed in the Olympics in 2004 in the 1,500-meter event. She retired from track and field in 2012 but returned to running in 2018 after the birth of her first child.

Elmore quickly found her stride in the marathon, qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. She finished ninth in Tokyo in sweltering heat, but she is determined to improve on that performance in Paris.

"I'm really proud of what I accomplished in Tokyo," Elmore said. "But I know I can do even better. I'm training harder than ever before, and I'm confident that I can finish in the top 10 in Paris."

Elmore's training regimen is rigorous, but she makes it work around her family's schedule. She gets up early to run before her husband, Graham Hood, goes to work. She also runs during her kids' school hours and piano lessons.

"I'm always looking for ways to squeeze in a run," Elmore said. "I even run to baseball practice and back. I just make it a part of my day."

Elmore's dedication to her training is evident in her results. She has won several marathons, including the Rock 'n' Roll Half-Marathon in Tempe, Arizona, in January. She also set a Canadian national record in the marathon in 2020.

Elmore is not only a talented runner, but she's also a role model for other women, especially mothers. She shows that it's possible to pursue your dreams, even if you have a busy schedule.

"I want to inspire other women to follow their dreams," Elmore said. "I want them to know that they can do anything they set their minds to."

Elmore's journey to the Paris Olympics is a story of perseverance, determination, and motherhood. She's an inspiration to her children, her family, and everyone who knows her.
