According to officials, Saez stole the bus, which belonged to Hillsborough County Public Schools, near Tampa on Saturday night. He then embarked on a reckless journey, driving the vehicle approximately 280 miles to Miami, a four-hour drive.
The suspect was eventually apprehended in Sarasota, where he admitted to stealing the bus and being under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of the crime. He reportedly claimed to be returning the bus to Tampa after his wild Saturday night escapade.
