According to the Alhambra Police Department, officers were initially called to the scene after the cleaning crew reported finding suspicious boxes. Upon arrival, they discovered the vast amount of meth, a dangerous and illicit substance.

Surveillance footage from a Ring camera captured the suspects using a U-Haul van to transport the narcotics. When authorities arrived at the Airbnb, the same U-Haul van returned to the location but quickly made a U-turn upon seeing the police presence.

Both Airbnb and the Alhambra Police Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.

This incident comes just a few weeks after a neighborhood in Long Beach, California, banned unsupervised Airbnb rentals due to concerns over drug-filled parties and other disruptive activities.

College Estates resident Andy Oliver played a key role in the ban, petitioning the city's Community Development Department after months of witnessing out-of-state tourists abusing California's lax drug laws and disturbing the peace.

"People have to live with this knowing that your house, your safe place, has now been violated by violent crime," Oliver stated at the time.

With over half of the homeowners in his area signing the petition, Oliver's efforts successfully passed new restrictions.

In the College Estates neighborhood, house rentals must now either convert to supervised rentals, where the host is present on-site, or shut down after their license expires.
