Montana County Jail Inmates Charged with Attempted Murder in Officer Attack

Two inmates in a Montana county jail are facing attempted murder charges after allegedly attacking corrections officers with makeshift weapons over the weekend. Myron Scott Goes Ahead, 20, and Ashtin Zant Glen, 18, pleaded not guilty to the crime during virtual court appearances from the Yellowstone County jail on Tuesday.

The alleged attack occurred on Saturday at the Yellowstone County jail, where Myron Scott Goes Ahead and Ashtin Zant Glen were being held. According to Sheriff Mike Linder, security cameras captured the unprovoked attack against two corrections officers. However, the footage has not been released at this time.

Prosecutor Hojae Chung of the Yellowstone County Attorney's Office revealed during Tuesday's hearing that one of the inmates used a makeshift knife to repeatedly stab one of the officers in the back of the head. The officer suffered serious bleeding and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the officer was released later that night and is expected to make a full recovery.
