Nicki Minaj's arrest at Amsterdam Airport on Saturday has sparked concerns among fans and raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident. The rapper took to social media to document the encounter, which showed authorities telling Minaj she was under arrest and her baggage needed to be searched.

According to a spokesperson for the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, a 41-year-old woman was arrested at Schiphol Airport for "possession of soft drugs." Minaj, whose legal name is Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, was instructed to get into an official vehicle to be transported to the police station.

In the video, Minaj expressed concern about making her upcoming show in Manchester, England. The official told her he would "try to get [her] there" as soon as possible. Minaj is currently on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, and it is unclear if she was booked at an Amsterdam police station.

After her Instagram Live ended, Minaj shared a video to her Instagram of a conversation with a man, informing her that her bags needed to be searched.

"The police officer told me we have to also search all the luggage and to search everything. I'm so sorry to say that," the officer told Minaj.

Minaj questioned why her luggage was not searched before it was loaded onto her private plane. The official explained that they conducted a "random, quick check" before the luggage boarded, but wanted to do a more in-depth search because Minaj filmed the officer.

Minaj attempted to defend herself, saying she had already told the officer she did not have any more drugs in her possession. However, the official said the officer did not believe her, prompting the need for a more thorough search.

Minaj took to Twitter, now known as X, to update her fans on the situation. She claimed that authorities found weed and that another group of people had to weigh the pre-rolls. She also alleged that her bags were taken without her consent and that her security had advised the authorities that the pre-rolls belonged to him.

Reps for Minaj and the Amsterdam airport did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Due to the delay, Co-op Live Arena, where Minaj is set to perform on Saturday night, updated fans that doors would now open at 7 pm.

The arrest of Nicki Minaj has raised concerns about the potential impact on her upcoming tour dates. Fans are eagerly awaiting updates on the situation and the outcome of the investigation.
