The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that the collision occurred at approximately 10:10 a.m., involving Delta Air Lines Flight 295 and Endeavor Air Flight 5526. Flight 295, an Airbus A350, was taxiing for departure to Tokyo, while Flight 5526, a Bombardier CRJ900, was preparing to depart for Lafayette, Louisiana.

According to the FAA, the Delta Airbus A350's wingtip struck the tail of the Endeavor Bombardier CRJ900. Images shared on social media show severe damage to the tail of the smaller plane, with its vertical stabilizer appearing to have been severed.

WFTS Meteorologist Jason Adams, a passenger on the CRJ900, described the incident as terrifying, with jarring metal scraping sounds and loud bangs. However, he confirmed that there were no injuries or smoke on the plane.

Delta Air Lines confirmed the collision in a statement, indicating that the wing of the Airbus A350 made contact with the tail of the CRJ-900 on an adjacent taxiway. The airline emphasized that there were no reported injuries among the 221 passengers on the Airbus A350 and 56 passengers on the Bombardier CRJ900.
