REO Speedwagon Announces Retirement from Touring After 58 Years

After five decades of delivering rock anthems, REO Speedwagon has made the difficult decision to call it a day on touring. Lead singer Kevin Cronin and original keyboardist Neal Doughty announced the news with "great sadness" amid ongoing disagreements with bassist Bruce Hall.

REO Speedwagon, the legendary rock band responsible for timeless hits like "Can't Fight This Feeling" and "Keep on Loving You," has announced its decision to retire from touring after 58 years. The news came in an emotional Facebook post on Monday, leaving fans heartbroken but cherishing the memories of decades of unforgettable shows.

The decision, effective January 1, 2025, was driven by "irreconcilable differences" between Cronin and Hall, who has been dealing with health issues. "It is with great sadness that we announce REO Speedwagon will cease touring effective January 1, 2025," the band wrote. "Neal, Kevin, and Bruce thank their fans for all their years of loyal support and for giving back to the band such wonderful memories that will remain with each of them forever."

Hall, who underwent back surgery last year, expressed his disappointment in a separate Facebook post. "Never ever thought it would end like this and I'm heartbroken," he wrote. "Please know Neal and I did everything in our power to try and keep the Wagon rolling."

The announcement comes after the band canceled several shows this month due to Cronin's illness. With 19 dates remaining on their current tour, starting with Rancho Mirage, California, on September 27, the band plans to bid farewell to fans one last time.
