Scottie Scheffler's arraignment, initially scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed to June 3 due to a conflict in his attorney's schedule. Scheffler was not expected to attend the arraignment in Louisville in any case.

The charges against Scheffler stem from an incident prior to the second round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club. He was arrested for not following police orders and faces charges of second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding signals from an officer directing traffic.

Scheffler's attorney, Steve Romines, told ESPN that his client will be pleading not guilty to all charges. The incident occurred when Scheffler was trying to enter Valhalla Golf Club and a 69-year-old man, John Mills, was struck by a shuttle bus and pronounced dead.

According to Detective Bryan Gillis, he attempted to stop Scheffler from proceeding, but Scheffler allegedly accelerated his SUV, dragging Gillis and causing injuries. Scheffler was subsequently arrested and taken to the police station.

Despite the arrest, Scheffler returned to the tournament in time for his second round. He finished tied-eighth at 13-under, falling short of the winner, Xander Schauffele.

Speaking after the tournament, Scheffler expressed fatigue but stated that he was "proud of how he fought" during the week. He also mentioned that he stretched in jail while awaiting his arraignment, continuing his normal routine ahead of the second round.

A source "familiar with" the Jefferson County Prosecutors Office's thinking has reportedly stated that they plan to drop the charges against Scheffler. However, it should be noted that this could change.

Additionally, a Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman confirmed that Detective Gillis failed to activate his bodycam video during the incident involving Scheffler.

Scheffler is scheduled to participate in the Charles Schwab Challenge this week at Colonial Golf Club in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
