According to Public Information Officer Carey Codd, Fort Irwin police apprehended Kisean Anderson, known professionally as Sean Kingston, on an arrest warrant issued by the Broward Sheriff's Office. Kingston will be booked into jail in San Bernardino, California.
Deputies from the Broward County Sheriff's Office and SWAT team members from the Davie Police Department conducted search warrants at Kingston's Southwest Ranches mansion earlier in the day. This raid resulted in the arrest of Janice Turner, Kingston's mother, on multiple fraud and theft charges.
The investigation began in the city of Dania Beach and involved detectives from the Broward Sheriff's Office Dania Beach District, the BSO's Strategic Investigations Unit, and the Davie Police SWAT team.
Kingston, whose full name is Kisean Paul Anderson, rose to fame with his debut single "Beautiful Girls" in 2007. He has since collaborated with renowned artists such as Justin Bieber, Kanye West, and Nicki Minaj.
In 2011, Kingston was involved in a near-fatal jet skiing accident in Miami. His watercraft crashed into a Miami Beach bridge, leaving him with a broken jaw, fractured wrist, and water in his lungs. This incident resulted in a three-week hospital stay.
Following a three-month investigation, authorities determined that Kingston lacked basic boating safety knowledge.
At the time of his arrest, Kingston posted on his Instagram stories, "People love negative energy! I am good and so is my mother!.. my lawyers are handling everything as we speak."
Representatives for Kingston have yet to respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
