Senator Mullin Condemns Left-Wing Media's Coverage of Trump's Cemetery Visit, Afghanistan Withdrawal

Senator Markwayne Mullin has accused the left-wing media of covering up for the Biden administration's handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal and commemorating former President Trump's visit to Arlington National Cemetery.

Senator Markwayne Mullin, a Republican from Oklahoma, has vehemently criticized the left-wing media for their coverage of former President Trump's recent visit to Arlington National Cemetery and the Biden administration's handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal.

During an appearance on "Fox & Friends," Mullin, who claimed to have been "intimately involved" in evacuating Americans from Afghanistan, stated that Trump had been "nothing but supportive" since the beginning.

Mullin asserted, "[The Biden administration] knows that this is such a black eye, they want nothing to do with it. They will do everything to divert attention from it, and what is despicable and disgusting is that the left-wing media constantly covers for them."

Trump attended a wreath-laying ceremony at the national cemetery in Virginia to honor the 13 service members who perished in the terrorist attack at Abbey Gate outside Kabul's Hamid Karzai International Airport on August 26, 2021.

Mullin maintained that it is not disrespectful to honor fallen soldiers or to reminisce about the sacrifices made by thousands of Americans in Afghanistan.

The families of the 13 service members have reported not receiving communication from Biden or Harris despite reaching out to the administration. They have also defended Trump's presence.

Mullin emphasized, "What is despicable and disgusting is that we have a president and a vice president who refuse to acknowledge it because of their disastrous withdrawal, which has cost and continues to cost the lives of thousands."

Senator Tom Cotton, a Republican from Arkansas, criticized President Biden and Harris for ignoring the victims' families on NBC's "Meet the Press."

NBC's host, Kristen Welker, erroneously stated during the segment that Vice President Kamala Harris participated in the dignified transfer of US troops killed during the Afghanistan withdrawal.

NBC subsequently issued a correction on the show's X account, acknowledging that Biden was present but Harris was not.

Mullin criticized the left-wing media for obscuring the Biden administration's responsibility in the Afghanistan withdrawal and for attempting to discredit Trump's visit to Arlington National Cemetery.

He concluded, "This is a disgrace, and the American people deserve better."
