Steve Kerr Predicts Kamala Harris Win with 'Night, Night' Reference

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who recently coached Team USA to Olympic gold, made a bold prediction about the upcoming presidential election during his speech at the Democratic National Convention. Kerr likened the potential victory of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to Steph Curry's signature celebration, "Night, night."

Just days after leading Team USA to its fifth consecutive Olympic medal in men's basketball, Steve Kerr took the stage at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. He explained his endorsement of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for president and vice president, drawing parallels between their leadership qualities and the success of his star player, Steph Curry.

Kerr's closing remarks were particularly bold, as he used Curry's iconic "Night, night" celebration to predict Harris's victory over Donald Trump. After Curry's three-pointer late in the gold-medal game against France, he turned to the crowd and rested his head on his hands, symbolizing the game's conclusion.

Kerr addressed the crowd, referencing Curry's now-famous gesture: "After the results are tallied that night, we can, in the words of the great Steph Curry, we can tell Donald Trump, 'Night, night!'"

Before his election prediction, Kerr outlined his reasons for supporting Harris and Walz. He emphasized the importance of dignity, honesty, empathy, and competence in leadership. "I believe that leaders must possess knowledge and expertise, but with the full awareness that none of us has all the answers," he said. "In fact, some of the best answers often come from members of the team."

Kerr's political views have been outspoken in the past, particularly regarding gun control. He has criticized Trump's policies and expressed concern over the recent assassination attempt against the former president.

"It's such a demoralizing day for our country, and it's yet another example of not only our political division but also gun culture," Kerr said of the attack. "A 20-year-old with an AR-15 trying to shoot the former president. It's hard to process everything, and it's scary to think about where this goes because of the issues that already exist in the country."

Despite the potential backlash, Kerr remains unapologetic about his political stance. "Speaking about politics these days comes with risks," he acknowledged. "But I know very well that speaking about politics these days comes with risks."

As Election Day approaches, Kerr plans to continue using his platform to advocate for his beliefs. He is determined to help people vote for candidates who align with his values. "I'll be getting out every day to help people get out to vote on November 5 and elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz as the next President and Vice President of the United States," he declared.
