Hostin argued that Mahomes, being in an interracial marriage, should have understood the problematic nature of supporting a figure accused of racism.
"It just seems to me that since she is in an interracial marriage, she should have known that to support a racist is problematic," Hostin said. "Her children are biracial, and her family is one of the families that in the '70s could not have lived in any of Donald Trump's buildings."

"It just seems to me that maybe she's just not that politically savvy or maybe she's just not read in," Hostin said. "I hope this is not the beginning of her going down a path where she's a Trump supporter, because she does have a platform."

Co-hosts Alyssa Farah Griffin and Whoopi Goldberg supported Hostin's criticism, with Griffin emphasizing the potential consequences of Trump's rhetoric on Mahomes and her family.
"Pick your champions," Goldberg told Mahomes. "There are other people who would be much better champions for your family, for your husband, and for the Chiefs organization."

Hostin has previously criticized Black Republicans, calling them an "oxymoron." She has also dismissed the existence of Latino Republicans.
"I don't understand Black Republicans and I don't understand Latino Republicans," she said during an episode of "The View" in 2022. "I think there's a lot of internalized oppression going on."
Patrick Mahomes has taken a neutral stance on presidential endorsements, urging people to inform themselves and vote.
