The Dayton Arcade's Fusion of Art and Wellness

The Dayton Arcade is launching a new program that combines art and wellness to promote holistic well-being. The weekly sessions will feature a variety of activities, including yoga, meditation, and art-making.

The Dayton Arcade, a historic landmark in the heart of downtown Dayton, is launching a new program designed to foster holistic well-being through a fusion of art and wellness initiatives. The program, aptly titled "The Art of Well-being," will offer a series of free weekly sessions that combine yoga, meditation, and art-making to promote physical, mental, and emotional health.

The sessions will be held every Tuesday from 12 pm to 1 pm in the Arcade's beautiful atrium. Each session will begin with a guided meditation led by a certified instructor, followed by a yoga class suitable for all levels. The session will conclude with a hands-on art-making activity that encourages participants to express their creativity and find inner peace.

"We are excited to launch this new program that combines the transformative power of art and wellness," said Scott Murphy, President of the Dayton Arcade. "We believe that this unique approach can help people reduce stress, improve their physical and mental health, and find a greater sense of purpose and meaning in their lives."

The program is open to people of all ages and backgrounds. No prior experience with yoga, meditation, or art is necessary. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat if they have one.

"The Art of Well-being" program is part of the Dayton Arcade's ongoing commitment to community engagement and well-being. The Arcade is home to a variety of businesses, including restaurants, shops, and art galleries. It is also a popular venue for events and exhibitions that celebrate the arts and culture of Dayton.

The program is made possible through a partnership with The Yoga Loft, a local yoga studio, and The Art Institute of Dayton, a community art center. The Yoga Loft will provide certified yoga instructors, while The Art Institute of Dayton will provide art supplies and facilitate the art-making activities.

"We are thrilled to partner with the Dayton Arcade on this important initiative," said Rachel Smith, owner of The Yoga Loft. "Yoga is a powerful tool for reducing stress, improving flexibility, and increasing mindfulness. We believe that this program will make yoga accessible to a wider audience and help people discover its many benefits."

"The Art Institute of Dayton is proud to be part of this collaborative effort that brings art, wellness, and community together," said David Ross, Executive Director of The Art Institute of Dayton. "Art has the ability to heal, inspire, and connect people. We believe that this program will create a space where people can find respite, express themselves creatively, and build meaningful relationships."

The Dayton Arcade is committed to making The Art of Well-being program accessible to everyone in the community. The sessions are free of charge, and no registration is required. Participants are simply asked to arrive on time and bring a positive attitude.

"We hope that this program will become a regular part of people's lives," said Murphy. "We believe that by taking care of our physical, mental, and emotional well-being, we can create a more vibrant and thriving community for all."
