The short clip, released by the clothing company Iron Clad USA, shows Crooks at 4:26 p.m. wearing shorts and a "Demolitia" T-shirt, leisurely strolling past vendors selling Trump merchandise ahead of the July 13 rally. He was wearing the same T-shirt when he later opened fire on Trump and attendees, and is not carrying anything in the eerie video.

Joe Tomko, owner of Iron Clad USA, explained that he and his family were promoting their merchandise near the rally's vendor area when they captured the footage. They were documenting the colorful atmosphere with videos, only realizing later that they had unknowingly captured the shooter in their recordings.

"I felt shock, disbelief, and sadness, realizing I had a video of this man on my phone," Tomko said. He shared the video with law enforcement to aid in the investigation and subsequently posted it on social media in an effort to raise awareness and potentially assist investigators.

The video emerged after the assassination attempt, which occurred around 6:11 p.m. Tomko's sister called him minutes later, informing him of the shooting and urging him to leave immediately.

Tomko learned that his son-in-law had witnessed the tragic event unfold from the same bleacher section where Corey Comperatore and his family were seated. Comperatore was fatally struck during the attack, while two others sustained serious injuries.

Tomko expressed his condolences to the Comperatore family and all other victims impacted by the assassination attempt.

Crooks climbed onto the roof of a nearby building and fired eight shots, one of which grazed Trump's right ear. The recovery of all shell casings and the possession of Crooks' body by the FBI are part of the ongoing investigation.

Higgins, a representative involved in the preliminary report, believes that a shot fired by a Butler SWAT operator from the ground damaged Crooks' rifle, preventing further firing after his eighth shot.

The investigation revealed that Crooks' body was released for cremation just 10 days after his death, which prompted concerns about the thoroughness of the investigation. However, the FBI maintains that the release was conducted in accordance with standard procedures and involved coordination with the coroner's office and law enforcement partners.
