Brady's broadcasting journey began in 2022, when FOX Corporation CEO Lachlan Murdoch announced during an earnings call that the NFL legend would join the network's top announcing team once he retired from football. At the time, Brady was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
While he initially planned to enter the broadcast booth in 2023, Brady ultimately decided to delay his foray by a year to better prepare for the new challenge. Since then, he has been diligently practicing his skills in anticipation of his debut.

"Obviously super excited, there's little anxiety," Brady told FOX Sports during halftime of the Texas-Michigan game when asked about his emotions leading up to his first broadcast. "There's been a lot of preparation that's gone into it from a lot of people, and it's been a couple years' journey. But, I think the thing that's most exciting to me is I get to get back to NFL football."
Brady emphasized his eagerness to re-engage with the sport he loves from a unique perspective. "Being up here in the booth, I've got the best partner in Kevin and Erin (Andrews) down on the field with (Tom Rinaldi)," he said. ". . . We've got a great group. There's so many talented people that I get to work with, I get to be a part of a great team. And I get to cover a sport I absolutely love."

Burkhardt, who has worked with Brady during pregame shows, expressed his admiration for the quarterback's approach to broadcasting. "He's such a pro," Burkhardt said. "He's asking questions. He's absorbing information like a sponge. He's a joy to work with."
