Cynthia Hoffman's murder in 2019 sent shockwaves through the community. She was lured into a hiking trail under the pretense of meeting up with friends for a hike. Unbeknownst to her, the group had conspired with Denali Brehmer, a woman Hoffman considered her best friend. Brehmer, desperate for money, had agreed to kill someone for a $9 million reward from an alleged millionaire she met online.

Brehmer and her accomplices, including Kayden McIntosh, Caleb Leyland, and two juveniles, lured Cynthia Hoffman to the trail, where they shot and killed her, later sending her killer a video and photos of the act. Brehmer was eventually sentenced to 99 years in prison, while the other accomplices received various sentences.

Hoffman's death has reopened wounds for the Hoffman family, who have endured unimaginable pain since their daughter's brutal murder. During court hearings, Timothy Hoffman was often seen wearing a black leather motorcycle jacket and carrying a small support dog named Diego, a constant companion that brought him solace.

Patrick McKay, a lead prosecutor in the criminal cases related to Cynthia Hoffman's killing, described Timothy Hoffman as a "zealous advocate" for his daughter, tirelessly seeking justice for her. McKay expressed shock and disbelief over Hoffman's sudden passing.

"I hope his family and friends take comfort in remembering that Tim died doing something he loved, with people he loved, in memory of someone he loved," said McKay.

Tim Hoffman's death serves as a reminder of the devastating toll that violent crime can take on families and loved ones left behind. His memory will continue to honor both his daughter and the unwavering love he held for her.
