According to Sammy's father, Sam Teusch, the family had repeatedly reported the bullying to the school on over 20 occasions. Despite their efforts, the abuse continued unabated. Sammy was recently bullied on the school bus and cornered in a school bathroom, leaving him feeling helpless and alone.
The Teusch family established a GoFundMe account to help cover the expenses of Sammy's funeral and memorial. The heartfelt words they shared in the description painted a vivid portrait of their loving son: "He was smart, funny, charming and deeply empathetic. He brightened the lives of anyone he encountered and was the life of the 'party.'"
The Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation is collaborating with the Greenfield Police Department to investigate Sammy's death.
