Trump also offered his condolences to the family of the person killed in the shooting and to the family of another person who was injured.

The shooter has been confirmed dead by a law enforcement source, according to Fox News' Jacqui Henrich. There are also two injured bystanders who have been taken to a Pittsburgh hospital.

A Secret Service source told Fox News' Lucas Tomlinson that an FBI fly team is on its way to Butler to begin an "assassination investigation."

The assassination attempt on Trump has sent shockwaves through the nation, raising concerns about political violence and the safety of public figures.

President Biden has condemned the attack, calling it "an outrage" and stating that "there is no place in America for this kind of violence."
