Trump-Harris Debate: Strategy Unveiled for Making VP Talk More

Sen. Rick Scott, a Trump 2024 campaign surrogate, believes that the key to success for former President Donald Trump in his debate against Vice President Kamala Harris is to get her talking more. Scott claims that when Harris talks, "no one, almost nobody agrees with her," and that her ideas are illogical.

Ahead of the highly anticipated debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) has revealed his strategy for helping Trump emerge victorious. According to Scott, the key is to ensure that Harris talks as much as possible during the debate.

"The best thing Trump can get her to do is if she could talk 99% of the time," Scott told Fox News Digital. "When she talks, no one, almost nobody agrees with her – maybe some socialists would. So I think the biggest thing is for her to talk about her ideas, whether it's to talk about the border, talk about the economy, talk about foreign policy ... there is no logic to her thought process."

Scott, who served with Harris on the Senate Homeland Security Committee, claimed that she is more interested in getting on television than in policy. "When she talks about price controls, that just means product shortages," he said. "When she talks about the border, people say, 'Well, why didn't she do it now?' And because everything she says she's going to do, I mean, I think the first reaction everybody has is 'Well, why didn't you do it?'"

Scott urged the ABC News moderators to press Harris on her stance on various issues, including the Afghanistan withdrawal and the rising inflation rates. He also suggested that Trump should focus on appealing to women by discussing issues that resonate with "all men and all women," such as the economy, education, and public safety.

Regarding the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which aims to prevent noncitizens from voting, Scott believes Trump should bring it up during the debate. He argues that concerns about election integrity are widespread among voters.

Scott's strategy aligns with the common criticism that Harris is often evasive or lacks substance in her responses. By getting her to talk more, Trump hopes to expose any inconsistencies or weaknesses in her positions.

However, some observers believe that the strategy could backfire if Harris is able to use the additional time to effectively articulate her views and connect with viewers. The debate is expected to be highly contentious, and the outcome may hinge on the candidates' ability to deliver clear and persuasive messages.
