Trump campaign official Corey Lewandowski believes the former president is strategically outperforming the Biden-Harris administration, despite criticism from pro-life activists.
Corey Lewandowski, a top adviser for former President Donald Trump's 2024 re-election campaign, has asserted that Trump is outmaneuvering the Biden-Harris administration on key issues, particularly abortion.
Appearing on "Fox News Sunday," Lewandowski defended Trump's stance on abortion after pro-life activist Lila Rose accused him of alienating his base by taking a more moderate approach. Rose claimed that Trump's efforts to appeal to Kamala Harris' base were politically unwise and could cost him the election.

Lewandowski countered that pro-life voters who choose not to support Trump due to his moderate stance on abortion are effectively endorsing Harris, who holds a "radical position" on the issue. He emphasized that Trump supports allowing states to decide their own abortion laws, which aligns with the original intent of Roe v. Wade.
"If [pro-life voters] choose to stay home, then by, you know, tacit endorsement, they're supporting Kamala Harris, who has had a radical position on the issue of abortion," Lewandowski said.

Lewandowski pointed out that Trump's three Supreme Court nominees have overturned Roe v. Wade, effectively returning the issue of abortion to the states. He argued that this decision reflects the American people's desire for local control over such matters.
"Roe v. Wade has been overturned because of his three Supreme Court nominees that are now sitting on the bench. And they've put it back to the states. And it's a decision at the local level now," Lewandowski stated.

He added that each state will have the flexibility to determine its own abortion laws, allowing women to make decisions based on their individual circumstances. Lewandowski believes that this approach provides greater autonomy and recognizes the diversity of views on abortion across the country.
"Every state is going to look a little different," he said. "We have seen some relatively or very conservative states go to a position where women are given opportunities that you would not have expected because of that. But those states understand, whether it's Ohio or Kansas, that women have the opportunity to make their own decisions, and the states are allowing that to happen."
