After debating President Biden on Thursday night, former President Trump rallied a crowd of thousands in Chesapeake, Virginia, a state that hasn't voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 2004. Joining Trump was Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, a potential vice presidential choice.
Many attendees had watched the debate and expressed their disappointment with Biden's performance.

Anne Sprouse from Virginia Beach said, "Biden is not physically able to be the president. I think his family should take him home. I think he needs to retire, and I think Trump needs to take it back."
Edward Young, who traveled over 300 miles from New Jersey, predicted, "Biden's toast. He's finished. He's gone...I predict he's going to resign by the end of the week."

Kevin Gaudet of Chesapeake called Biden's performance "a shame," saying, "Our president of the United States [was] basically disgraced on the world stage."
Trump supporters praised Trump's composure and focus during the debate.

Gaudet said, "Trump did an excellent job. He kept his cool. He didn't get upset. He was truly presidential."
Sophia, a 12-year-old girl from Virginia Beach, criticized Biden's lack of awareness. "It's nice to know somebody's awake and ready to support our country," she said.

The second and final presidential debate is scheduled for September 10 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC News.
