In today’s digital age, small business owners are increasingly relying on their cell phones to run their companies. From managing finances to communicating with customers, cell phones have become an essential tool for entrepreneurs. However, this convenience comes with a risk. Hackers are constantly developing new ways to take over cell phones and use them to steal money or data.

The “Protecting Your Phone From Hackers” workshop will provide small business owners with the information they need to keep their phones safe. The workshop will cover topics such as:

* How hackers can take over your phone

* What businesses can do to protect themselves

* How to recover from a hack

The workshop will be held on May 19 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the UW College of Business. The workshop is free and open to all small business owners.

“Small businesses are a vital part of our economy, and we want to do everything we can to help them succeed,” said Karen Obermueller, Wyoming SBDC Network State Director. “This workshop will provide them with the information they need to protect their businesses from cybercrime.”

Here are some additional tips for small business owners to protect their cell phones from hackers:

* Keep your software up to date. Software updates often include security patches that can help protect your phone from hackers.

* Be careful about what apps you download. Only download apps from trusted sources.

* Be careful about what links you click. Phishing attacks often use links to trick people into giving up their personal information.

* Use strong passwords. Make sure your passwords are at least 12 characters long and contain a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols.

* Back up your data regularly. If your phone is hacked, you will be able to restore your data from your backup.

* If you think your phone has been hacked, contact your cell phone provider immediately. They can help you to secure your account and protect your data.

By following these tips, small business owners can help to protect their phones from hackers and keep their businesses safe.
