Valleyfair Flooded Due to Unprecedented Rainfall, Guests Denied Refunds

Valleyfair amusement park in Minnesota remains closed after unprecedented rainfall in the midwest, resulting in severe flooding that has shut down multiple attractions and parking options. Despite the closures, the park is not offering refunds to ticket holders, citing its weather impact policy that excludes refunds for weather-related events.

Valleyfair, a popular amusement park nestled between the Minnesota River and Blue Lake, has been forced to close its doors due to severe flooding triggered by torrential rainfall across the Midwest. The heavy downpours have inundated areas of the park below "the crest," according to a statement released by Valleyfair officials.

The closures, which include three major rides and the entire parking facility, have left guests stranded and disappointed. While the park has announced revised operating hours from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, access to the park has been restricted through a "temporary gate entrance."

To accommodate displaced guests, Valleyfair has arranged free bus transportation from the Canterbury Overflow Lot, Eagle Creek Park and Ride, and Southbridge Crossing Park and Ride. However, the influx of guests has prompted the park to discourage re-entries due to limited space and capacity.

The Fourth of July fireworks show, scheduled for next week, has also been postponed to "later this season," without a definitive date yet announced. Additionally, Valleyfair has confirmed that refunds will not be issued, citing its weather impact policy that excludes refunds for weather-related incidents unless guests purchased the optional Ticket Insurance.

The park's decision has met with mixed reactions from patrons. Some guests have expressed frustration and disappointment at the lack of refunds, particularly for those who had planned their visits from out-of-town.

However, Valleyfair representatives have stated that they offer the option for guests to reschedule their visits to another date, subject to availability and similar ticket pricing. Guests can utilize the park's Guest Portal to make these arrangements.

Valleyfair did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for further comment. The park's website advises guests to check for updates and closures before planning their visits.
